Phishbowl is an App available on Google Play and App Store used by individuals to list and report known scammers targeting their community and also has tools where users can check for scam messages themselves. There are also tools to check for breached user data
2. How does Phishbowl help me stay safe?
It allows you to check if a suspicious information (SMS, WhatsApp, Email) you received has already been reported as a phishing attempt. If also allows you to check via self-help tools if the message is safe or suspicious.
3. Who maintains the Phishbowl?

4. How often is the Phishbowl updated?
Updates depend on the user, but it is generally updated as soon as new scams are identified and reported by the user. The App itself undergoes regular updates for usability.
5. Can I report a phishing email to Phishbowl?
Yes, you can report not only a phishing email but also, phone numbers, UPI/ Crypto and Social Media handles also through our Phishbowl App by becoming a user.
6. How do I know if an email or message is a phishing attempt?
Look for common signs like unexpected requests, urgent language, unknown senders, and suspicious links. For more details refer to our Red Flags under Resources page.

You need to be a registered user and log in to use our services

No, Phishbowl is an informational resource and self-help tool. It helps you identify scams, but you must take action to avoid them.
9. Is Phishbowl available on mobile devices?
Our search / report tool and self-help tools all our available only through our app on a mobile device. This website is for informational purposes to know more about us and the App, Phishbowl, which can be downloaded through Google Play and App Store and in India through Indus App Store as well.
10. Can I unsubscribe from Phishbowl notifications?
As a policy Phishbowl does not send regular updates and notifications. You may have an option to manage notifications of app updates on your mobile device that may be sent occasionally. If you wish to delete you account, you may use that feature within the app.
11. Is Phishbowl available across the globe?
Currently it is only available in Indian geography app stores and will soon open up to other countries.
12. How to identify scams
There are many ways like unexpected requests, urgent language, unknown senders, and suspicious links. To be safe you can always check for Red Flags on our website or search for a suspicious user email/ phone/ sms/ social media handle on our app. You can also use our toolkit in our Phishbowl app to identify scams by pasting the message or screenshot of the same in it.
13. What should I do if I am a victim of cybercrime?
Immediately, report it to government resources on the cybercrime portal. The details are available on our Resources page.
14. Can Phishbowl protect my personal email accounts?
No, but you can check if your email and password has been compromised in any data breach through the tool in our app.

Spam calls and messages are those which are usually sent for marketing / promotional purposes and unwanted intrusions on your phone and you can block them using spam blocking apps. Scam calls are those which may seem harmless at first and may be from fraudsters pretending to be someone else trying to trick you in to parting with your money on some pretext or the other.
